The goal of the Kinship Care Program is to enhance the physical and emotional well-being of intergenerational families by connecting them with needed services and providing support.

Did you know that...

• ...grandparents are filling the role of primary caregiver in 10% of all Ohio households with children, and the average care arrangement lasts for 6 years?
• ...the average age of these grandparents is 55, and that 1 out of 6, or 16%, is over 65?
• ...50% care for more than one child; 43% are alone, and 87% of single care giving grandparents are female?
• ...51% have incomes less than $30,000; 25% make less than $15,000?
• ...14% receive support from public assistance, 9% receive child support, and 8% receive social security for the child?
• ...11% of these caregivers are legal guardians, and 9% have formal custody?

• What about my health, social life, and dreams for this time in my life? My friends just don't understand...
• Why is it so much more difficult to be a parent the second time around?
• What help is available?
