Portage County Safe Communities
Portage County Safe Communities focuses on seat belt usage, impaired driving, distracted driving, and motorcycle safety. In addition to the educational and enforcement components, the Fatal Review Board examines fatal crashes to identify trends in Portage County.
This year's activities will include the annual What's Holding You Back Kickoff, Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, the None 4 Under 21 and Choices Beyond Event, and opportunities to promote traffic safety awareness to the general public as well as specific audiences. Employers in Portage County Safety Council can earn a 2-percent rebate on workers compensation premiums by becoming an active member of the Portage County Safety Council.
